Although delayed SN degeneration is often observed on diffusion-weighted imaging (DWI) in patients with stroke, 2-5 the factors associated with delayed SN degeneration and its clinical significance are unclear. Herein, we investigated factors associated with delayed SN degeneration in patients with acute infarction involving the basal ganglia.
