{"doi":"10.5281/zenodo.17653757","title":"Simple Pneumatic MRI Motion Phantom","abstract":"[From manuscript] We describe the design, construction, and testing of a simple, low-cost, open-source, exclusively pneumatic phantom for gated magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) of cyclic motion. The overall phantom cost is approximately $200 (a version for less than $200 is possible with a less expensive filling liquid, making it the most affordable dynamic MR motion phantom of disclosed cost to date). It is designed to use widely-available materials and an easy-to-program, adaptable micro-controller. Contrast is generated with air pumped through mineral oil. We demonstrate the utility of the phantom for pulse sequence and image reconstruction prototyping on an ultra-low field strength (47.5 mT) scanner, showing that it can be used to simulate simplified organ motion.
