{"doi":"10.52174/2579-2989_2023.1-52","title":"Ուսուցչի աշխատավարձ. արդյո՞ք այն արտացոլում է ուսուցչի աշխատանքի կարևորությունը / Teacher's Salary: Does It Reflect the Importance of the Teachers’ Work?","abstract":"<jats:p>Salary is only one of many factors that affect teachers’ motivation, but it is the most important\nfactor in attracting the best candidates and keeping the best teachers in the system. Low salaries make\nit difficult to attract new teachers and retain those already in the profession. In addition, the teacher's\nsalary is strongly correlated with the pupils’ performance. In the paper, the teacher's salary in different\ncountries and its ratio with the minimum salary and the minimum expenditure basket were studied,\nand comparisons were made with the RA. Unlike many other countries, where the salary of a teacher\nis low compared to salaries of other sectors, but still allows living a decent life, in the case of Armenia,\nthis problem is more acute to the extent that it is not only low compared to other sectors, but also very\noften the teacher's salary does not give a chance to live a decent life.
