{"doi":"10.5006/c1985-85303","title":"Zirconium in Sulfuric Acid Applications","abstract":"<jats:title>Abstract</jats:title>\n               <jats:p>Zirconium is one of the few metals that resists attack by sulfuric acid at all concentrations up to 75% and temperatures to boiling and above. This capability makes zirconium an attractive structural metal to handle the difficult 40-65% H2SO4 to boiling temperatures and weak acid concentrations at elevated temperatures. This paper covers zirconium's corrosion properties in sulfuric acid solutions, the comparative corrosion data of zirconium versus several iron and nickel base alloys.
