{"doi":"10.31438/trf.hh2024.25","title":"TRANSLATION ELECTRICALLY CONTROLLED ROTATION OF LARGE ZEBRAFISH EMBRYO BY ACOUSTIC TWEEZERS","abstract":"This paper presents trapping, micromanipulation and electrically controlled rotation of a large inhomogeneous/nonsymmetrical late-stage zebrafish embryo underwater using two sets of MEMS acoustic tweezers.The trapping and manipulation of such large living organisms in liquid is studied with two different acoustic tweezers operating at frequencies of 0.524 and 2.10 MHz.The two different acoustic tweezers can provide complementary features; one to achieve stable rotation-less trapping (as a trapped embryo is translated in 3-dimensional space) and the other to electrically control the rotation of a trapped embryo while changing applied voltage, pulse repetition frequency, and duty cycle for an achievable rotation speed ranging from 0.2 revolution per second (rps) to 1 full rotation per second.The translation capability of the acoustic tweezers has been characterized through the maximum translation speed before losing trapping (up to 12mm/s), corresponding to an estimated lateral trapping force of 80 and 60nN for the 0.524 and 2.1MHz tweezers, respectively.The comparison of the embryo's longitudinal and transverse stability exhibits a more enclosed trapping zone for the 2.1MHz tweezers with an average vertical shaking of 10m compared to 20m for the 0.524MHz (and a longitudinal shaking of 60 and 120m for the 2.1 and 0.524MHz tweezers, respectively).","journal":null,"year":2024,"id":489496,"datarank":0.0,"base_score":0.0,"endowment":0.0,"self_citation_contribution":0.0,"citation_network_contribution":0.0,"self_endowment_contribution":0.0,"citer_contribution":0.0,"corpus_percentile":null,"corpus_rank":null,"citation_count":2,"citer_count":0,"citers_with_citation_signal":0,"citers_with_endowment":0,"datacite_reuse_total":0,"is_dataset":false,"is_dataset_confidence":0.9562,"is_data_producer":false,"deposit_databanks":null,"is_oa":true,"file_count":0,"downloads":0,"has_version_chain":false,"published_date":"2024-01-01","fair_score":null,"fair_percentile":null,"algorithm_id":"datarank_citation_only_1hop_v6","ranking_scope":"data_only","authors":[{"id":1335083,"name":"Kianoush Sadeghian","orcid":null,"position":1,"is_corresponding":false},{"id":1330488,"name":"Akash Roy","orcid":"0000-0002-1497-9788","position":2,"is_corresponding":false},{"id":990034,"name":"Matin Barekatain","orcid":"0000-0002-6488-8323","position":3,"is_corresponding":false},{"id":1335084,"name":"Eun Sok","orcid":null,"position":4,"is_corresponding":false},{"id":1330487,"name":"Baptiste Neff","orcid":"0000-0002-0286-9055","position":0,"is_corresponding":true}],"reference_count":6,"raw_metadata":null,"created_at":"2026-07-19T02:08:28.548530Z","pmid":null,"pmcid":null,"fwci":null,"citation_percentile":null,"influential_citations":0,"oa_status":null,"license":null,"views":0,"total_file_size_bytes":0,"version_count":0,"fair_f":null,"fair_a":null,"fair_i":null,"fair_r":null,"fair_zscore":null,"fair_rationale":null,"fair_model":null,"fair_agent_version":null,"fair_fulltext_source":null,"fair_has_llm":null,"fair_computed_at":null,"clinical_trials":[],"software_tools":[],"db_accessions":[],"linked_datasets":[],"topics":[]}
