Enzyme and alkaline hydrolysates of ribonucleic and desoxyribonucleic acids contained growth-promoting factors for Endamoeba histolytica. Acid hydrolysates of nucleic acids, however, were without this stimulatory activity on the amebas. 2. Nucleosides, adenosine, guanosine, and thymidine, were stimulatory to the NRS and HUS-100 strains but not for the UC strain.
