Methods: We analyzed data from 2,543 participants across Argentina, Brazil, Colombia, Canada, and the USA with at least 200 participants per country. The two primary concerns assessed were: a) fear of being infected, and 2) concern about personal health if infected. Participants were asked to report changes in their physical activity (PA) behavior since COVID-19 pandemic started. Results: The sample was predominantly female (75.7%), with 66.9% aged between 30-64 years. The prevalence of participants who reported RPAC remained stable in South American countries but increased in Canada (+7.8 percentage points [p.p.]; p = 0.001) and decreased in the USA (-9.7 pp; p = 0.003). Concerns about personal health were significantly associated with RPAC in South America (PR = 1.47; 95% CI: 1.09; 1.97), while no association was found in North America. Notably, participants from Colombia (PR = 1.90; 95% CI: 1.09; 3.31), and the USA (PR = 1.48; 95% CI: 1.01; 2.17) were more likely to report RPAC due to COVID-19 concerns. Conclusion: While participants reduced their PA behavior in South American countries and Canada during the first 15 months of the pandemic, COVID 19-related concerns stayed high. In contrast in the USA less participants reported RPAC, as concerns decreased, suggesting a shift in PA behavior as COVID-19-related concerns lessened.","journal":"Revista Brasileira de Atividade Física & Saúde","year":2025,"id":566070,"datarank":0.0,"base_score":0.0,"endowment":0.0,"self_citation_contribution":0.0,"citation_network_contribution":0.0,"self_endowment_contribution":0.0,"citer_contribution":0.0,"corpus_percentile":0.0,"corpus_rank":10062,"citation_count":0,"citer_count":0,"citers_with_citation_signal":0,"citers_with_endowment":0,"datacite_reuse_total":0,"is_dataset":true,"is_dataset_confidence":0.5073,"is_data_producer":false,"deposit_databanks":null,"is_oa":true,"file_count":0,"downloads":0,"has_version_chain":false,"published_date":"2025-01-01","fair_score":null,"fair_percentile":null,"algorithm_id":"datarank_citation_only_1hop_v6","ranking_scope":"data_only","authors":[{"id":1469532,"name":"Paula Aver Bretanha Ribeiro","orcid":"0000-0003-0513-5812","position":1,"is_corresponding":false},{"id":1469533,"name":"Kim Lavoie","orcid":"0000-0003-2606-1357","position":2,"is_corresponding":false},{"id":1469534,"name":"Felipe Fossati Reichert","orcid":"0000-0002-0951-9875","position":3,"is_corresponding":false},{"id":1469531,"name":"Eduardo Lucia Caputo","orcid":"0000-0002-3515-9308","position":0,"is_corresponding":true}],"reference_count":29,"raw_metadata":null,"created_at":"2026-07-19T02:56:32.546082Z","pmid":null,"pmcid":null,"fwci":null,"citation_percentile":null,"influential_citations":0,"oa_status":null,"license":null,"views":0,"total_file_size_bytes":0,"version_count":0,"fair_f":null,"fair_a":null,"fair_i":null,"fair_r":null,"fair_zscore":null,"fair_rationale":null,"fair_model":null,"fair_agent_version":null,"fair_fulltext_source":null,"fair_has_llm":null,"fair_computed_at":null,"clinical_trials":[],"software_tools":[],"db_accessions":[],"linked_datasets":[],"topics":[]}
