METHODS: In this study, we retrospectively analyzed the prevalence and clinical profile of NPM1, FLT3-ITD, CEBPA, and c-kit mutations in 312 patients with de novo AML. RESULTS: The frequencies of NPM1, FLT3-ITD, c-kit, and CEBPA mutations were 15.4, 14.0, 7.64, and 25.6%, respectively. The occurrence rate of NPM1 mutations increased with age in patients younger than 60 years. NPM1, c-kit, and CEBPA mutations were all associated with French-American-British subtypes. Patients with NPM1 mutations and FLT3-ITD presented with higher peripheral white blood cell counts and marrow blast percentages. CONCLUSION: Both this and previous studies may suggest low frequencies of NPM1 and FLT3-ITD mutations in AML patients from the Chinese population, and they may have a synergistic function in stimulating proliferation of leukemia cells.","is_dataset_classified":null,"base_score":2.4849066497880004,"endowment":2.4849066497880004,"datacite_reuse_total":0,"file_count":0,"downloads":0,"views":0,"has_version_chain":false,"is_dataset":false,"is_oa":false,"pmid":"24164801","pmcid":null,"openalex_id":"https://openalex.org/W2042650367","authors":[],"funders":[],"total_grants":0,"fwci":0.7376,"citation_percentile":0.7172524,"influential_citations":0,"citation_trend":[{"year":2015,"count":4},{"year":2017,"count":1},{"year":2018,"count":2},{"year":2019,"count":1},{"year":2020,"count":1},{"year":2025,"count":2}],"oa_status":"bronze","license":null,"oa_locations":[{"url":"https://www.tandfonline.com/doi/pdf/10.1179/1607845413Y.0000000132?needAccess=true&role=button","host_type":"journal"},{"url":"https://www.tandfonline.com/doi/pdf/10.1179/1607845413Y.0000000132?needAccess=true&role=button","host_type":"publisher"},{"url":"https://www.tandfonline.com/doi/pdf/10.1179/1607845413Y.0000000132","host_type":"publisher"},{"url":"https://doi.org/10.1179/1607845413y.0000000132","host_type":"journal"},{"url":"https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/24164801","host_type":"repository"}],"fields_of_study":["Acute Myeloid Leukemia Research","Retinoids in leukemia and cellular processes","Myeloproliferative Neoplasms: Diagnosis and Treatment","Adolescent","Adult","Aged","Aged, 80 and over","CCAAT-Enhancer-Binding Proteins","Child","China","Female","Humans","Leukemia, Myeloid, Acute","Male","Middle Aged","Mutation","Nuclear Proteins","Nucleophosmin","Proto-Oncogene Proteins c-kit","Young Adult","fms-Like Tyrosine Kinase 3"],"mesh_terms":["Nucleophosmin","Adolescent","Adult","Aged","Aged, 80 and over","Child","China","Female","Humans","Male","Middle Aged","Mutation","Nuclear Proteins","Leukemia, Myeloid, Acute","Proto-Oncogene Proteins c-kit","CCAAT-Enhancer-Binding Proteins","fms-Like Tyrosine Kinase 3","Young Adult"],"keywords":["CEBPA","NPM1","Myeloid leukemia","Leukemia","Medicine","Cancer research","Fms-Like Tyrosine Kinase 3","Population","Oncology","Myeloid","Biology","Internal medicine","Mutation","Immunology","Genetics","Gene","Karyotype","Leukocyte","CD34","BLAST","Acute myeloid leukemia","Molecular mutation"],"sdg_mappings":[{"sdg_number":0,"sdg_label":"Good health and well-being"}],"linked_datasets":[],"clinical_trials":[],"software_tools":[],"database_accessions":[],"source":"live","citation_network_status":"fetched"},"created_at":"2026-08-07T01:37:27.490255Z","pmid":null,"pmcid":null,"fwci":null,"citation_percentile":null,"influential_citations":0,"oa_status":null,"license":null,"views":0,"total_file_size_bytes":0,"version_count":0,"fair_f":null,"fair_a":null,"fair_i":null,"fair_r":null,"fair_zscore":null,"fair_rationale":null,"fair_model":null,"fair_agent_version":null,"fair_fulltext_source":null,"fair_has_llm":null,"fair_computed_at":null,"clinical_trials":[],"software_tools":[],"db_accessions":[],"linked_datasets":[],"topics":[]}
