Methods: This was a cross-sectional study of glaucoma and glaucoma suspect patients from an academic center between May and October 2023. Peripapillary RNFL thickness was measured using GMPE and SGM on the same day; only scans with good centration and reliable segmentation in both modalities were analyzed. Results: Of 1277 eyes (665 patients) reviewed, 766 eyes (465 patients) met inclusion criteria. Global and sectoral RNFL thicknesses were highly correlated between GMPE and SGM (r ≥ 0.844; ICC ≥ 0.706; P < 0.001 for all); however, global and sectoral RNFL thicknesses between the modules were significantly different (P < 0.001), except for the temporal (P = 0.199) and superotemporal (P = 0.282) sectors. Bland-Altman analysis revealed a global 3.31-µm systematic difference (95% limits of agreement, -7.04 to 13.66); 239 eyes (31.2%) and 63 eyes (8.2%) had a larger than 5-µm and 10-µm difference, respectively. Factors associated with greater absolute measurement differences included higher GMPE RNFL thickness (P < 0.001), lower GMPE scan quality (P = 0.040), and normal-tension glaucoma diagnosis compared to primary open-angle glaucoma (P = 0.028). Conclusions: Despite excellent correlation, global RNFL thickness and the RNFL thickness of most sectors differed significantly between GMPE and the SGM, sometimes markedly. Clinicians should consider these differences when interpreting or transitioning between modules in the management of glaucoma patients. Translational Relevance: Although highly correlated, GMPE reported thicker global and sectoral RNFL measurements than SGM, which is important when comparing longitudinal OCT follow-up using these modules.","is_dataset_classified":null,"base_score":0.0,"endowment":0.0,"datacite_reuse_total":0,"file_count":0,"downloads":0,"views":0,"has_version_chain":false,"is_dataset":false,"is_oa":false,"pmid":"41247116","pmcid":"PMC12633779","openalex_id":"https://openalex.org/W4416297304","authors":[],"funders":[],"total_grants":0,"fwci":0.0,"citation_percentile":0.41634074,"influential_citations":0,"citation_trend":[],"oa_status":"gold","license":"cc-by-nc-nd","oa_locations":[{"url":"https://tvst.arvojournals.org/arvo/content_public/journal/tvst/938737/i2164-2591-14-11-19_1763133424.45086.pdf","host_type":"journal"},{"url":"https://tvst.arvojournals.org/arvo/content_public/journal/tvst/938737/i2164-2591-14-11-19_1763133424.45086.pdf","host_type":"publisher"},{"url":"https://tvst.arvojournals.org/article.aspx?articleid=2811109","host_type":"publisher"},{"url":"https://doi.org/10.1167/tvst.14.11.19","host_type":"journal"},{"url":"https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/41247116","host_type":"repository"},{"url":"https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/12633779","host_type":"repository"},{"url":"https://europepmc.org/articles/PMC12633779","host_type":"Europe_PMC"},{"url":"https://europepmc.org/articles/PMC12633779?pdf=render","host_type":"Europe_PMC"}],"fields_of_study":["Glaucoma and retinal disorders","Retinal Diseases and Treatments","Retinal and Macular Surgery","Humans","Cross-Sectional Studies","Male","Female","Nerve Fibers","Tomography, Optical Coherence","Middle Aged","Retinal Ganglion Cells","Glaucoma","Aged","Intraocular Pressure","Optic Disk"],"mesh_terms":["Aged","Cross-Sectional Studies","Female","Glaucoma","Humans","Intraocular Pressure","Male","Middle Aged","Nerve Fibers","Optic Disk","Retinal Ganglion Cells","Tomography, Optical Coherence"],"keywords":["Glaucoma","Nerve fiber layer","Retinal","Quantitative analysis (chemistry)","Layer (electronics)","Normal tension glaucoma"],"sdg_mappings":[],"linked_datasets":[],"clinical_trials":[],"software_tools":[],"database_accessions":[{"name":"doi"}],"source":"live","citation_network_status":"fetched"},"created_at":"2026-08-07T14:43:00.476627Z","pmid":null,"pmcid":null,"fwci":null,"citation_percentile":null,"influential_citations":0,"oa_status":null,"license":null,"views":0,"total_file_size_bytes":0,"version_count":0,"fair_f":null,"fair_a":null,"fair_i":null,"fair_r":null,"fair_zscore":null,"fair_rationale":null,"fair_model":null,"fair_agent_version":null,"fair_fulltext_source":null,"fair_has_llm":null,"fair_computed_at":null,"clinical_trials":[],"software_tools":[],"db_accessions":[],"linked_datasets":[],"topics":[]}
