The data gathering capabilities of mobile devices offer unprecedented insight into disease and behavior through the development of countless digital biomarkers - signals in digital data that predict status, symptoms, or outcomes. On the back of this promise, hundreds of companies have been founded and hundreds of thousands of health-focused mobile apps have been dropped into the consumer and medical markets.
