Hyalella azteca was present in 69 of 71 nonacidified lakes, and absent in 8 of 8 lakes which either are now ar recently were considered acidified. Bioassay data indicate a 96-h LC50of pH 4.4 and a 10-d threshold LC50of pH 4.5 for H. azteca in a natural surface water. Hyalella azteca is extremely rare in Plastic Lake, which undergoes severe short-term acidification in spring, and recruitment is delayed 2 wk in Heeney Lake which undergoes similar short-term acidification, in Dickie, Harp, Red Chalk, and Blue Chalk lakes, where springtime pH depressions below pH 4.7 were not recorded, H. azteca is abundant.
","journal":"Canadian Journal of Fisheries and Aquatic Sciences","year":1986,"id":35581,"datarank":5.47236715462562,"base_score":4.189654742026425,"endowment":4.189654742026425,"self_citation_contribution":0.6284482113039639,"citation_network_contribution":4.843918943321656,"self_endowment_contribution":0.6284482113039639,"citer_contribution":4.843918943321656,"corpus_percentile":null,"corpus_rank":null,"citation_count":65,"citer_count":64,"citers_with_citation_signal":59,"citers_with_endowment":59,"datacite_reuse_total":0,"is_dataset":false,"is_dataset_confidence":null,"is_data_producer":false,"deposit_databanks":null,"is_oa":false,"file_count":0,"downloads":0,"has_version_chain":false,"published_date":null,"fair_score":null,"fair_percentile":null,"algorithm_id":"datarank_citation_only_1hop_v6","ranking_scope":"data_only","authors":[{"id":181936,"name":"G.
