{"doi":"10.1135/cccc19920540","title":"Preparation, Characterization and Stereochemistry of Mixed Anhydrides of O-Alkylbenzohydroximic Acid","abstract":"<jats:p>A number of stable isoimides have been prepared by acylation and sulfonylation of <jats:italic>O</jats:italic>-benzylbenzohydroxamic acid and <jats:italic>O</jats:italic>-butylbenzohydroxamic acid by anisoyl chloride, benzoyl chloride, phenoxyacetyl chloride, <jats:italic>p</jats:italic>-toluenesulfonyl chloride, benzenesulfonyl chloride and <jats:italic>p</jats:italic>-nitrobenzenesulfonyl chloride in the presence of pyridine. Spectral investigations indicate that the products have the mixed anhydride structure with (<jats:italic>Z</jats:italic>)-configuration. Corresponding (<jats:italic>E</jats:italic>)-isomers and isomeric N-acetylated products if formed, could not be isolated.
