{"doi":"10.1126/science.287.5455.1019","title":"Zener Model Description of Ferromagnetism in Zinc-Blende Magnetic Semiconductors","abstract":"<jats:p>\n            Ferromagnetism in manganese compound semiconductors not only opens prospects for tailoring magnetic and spin-related phenomena in semiconductors with a precision specific to III-V compounds but also addresses a question about the origin of the magnetic interactions that lead to a Curie temperature (\n            <jats:italic>T</jats:italic>\n            <jats:sub>C</jats:sub>\n            ) as high as 110 K for a manganese concentration of just 5%. Zener's model of ferromagnetism, originally proposed for transition metals in 1950, can explain\n            <jats:italic>T</jats:italic>\n            <jats:sub>C</jats:sub>\n            of Ga\n            <jats:sub>1−</jats:sub>\n            <jats:sub>\n              <jats:italic>x</jats:italic>\n            </jats:sub>\n            Mn\n            <jats:sub>\n              <jats:italic>x</jats:italic>\n            </jats:sub>\n            As and that of its II-VI counterpart Zn\n            <jats:sub>1−</jats:sub>\n            <jats:sub>\n              <jats:italic>x</jats:italic>\n            </jats:sub>\n            Mn\n            <jats:sub>\n              <jats:italic>x</jats:italic>\n            </jats:sub>\n            Te and is used to predict materials with\n            <jats:italic>T</jats:italic>\n            <jats:sub>C</jats:sub>\n            exceeding room temperature, an important step toward semiconductor electronics that use both charge and spin.\n          </jats:p>","journal":"Science","year":2000,"id":11951,"datarank":30.934463534838684,"base_score":8.94663520890585,"endowment":8.94663520890585,"self_citation_contribution":1.3419952813358775,"citation_network_contribution":29.59246825350281,"self_endowment_contribution":1.3419952813358775,"citer_contribution":29.59246825350281,"corpus_percentile":98.8,"corpus_rank":1280,"citation_count":7681,"citer_count":188,"citers_with_citation_signal":188,"citers_with_endowment":188,"datacite_reuse_total":0,"is_dataset":false,"is_oa":false,"file_count":0,"downloads":0,"has_version_chain":false,"published_date":"2000-02-11","authors":[{"id":95697,"name":"H.
