By contrast, treatment with iodoacetic acid or\n            <jats:italic>p</jats:italic>\n            -chloromercuribenzoate led to inactivation. Treatment with iodoacetamide prevented the effect of\n            <jats:italic>p</jats:italic>\n            -chloromercuribenzoate and vice versa.
