{"doi":"10.1126/science.1246604","title":"Plant Desiccation: Polysome Loss Not Due to Ribonuclease","abstract":"<jats:p>\n            During desiccation of the drought-tolerant moss\n            <jats:italic>Tortula ruralis</jats:italic>\n            polysome levels decline substantially before any increase in ribonuclease activity is observed. Furthermore, ribosomes in the desiccated moss are not complexed with messenger RNA fragments.
