The redundancy within adjacent video frames is exploited by motion compensated interframe prediction. The motion information and the prediction error are transmitted to the receiver to reconstruct the video frames. The motion information must be compressed in a lossless way. Several lossless data compression techniques are tested and compared here for the motion information. It is observed that more than 50% compression of motion data is achieved.
