{"doi":"10.1111/sltb.12110","title":"Psychiatric and Self‐Injury Profiles of Adolescent Suicide Attempters versus Adolescents Engaged in Nonsuicidal Self‐Injury","abstract":"<jats:p>To better delineate the unique correlates of self‐injurious behaviors (<jats:styled-content style=\"fixed-case\">SIB</jats:styled-content>), psychiatric profiles of mutually exclusive groups of adolescents who made a suicide attempt (<jats:styled-content style=\"fixed-case\">SA</jats:styled-content>) versus those engaged in nonsuicidal self‐injury (<jats:styled-content style=\"fixed-case\">NSSI</jats:styled-content>) were examined. Contrary to hypotheses, the <jats:styled-content style=\"fixed-case\">NSSI</jats:styled-content> group endorsed earlier onsets of <jats:styled-content style=\"fixed-case\">SIB</jats:styled-content> and suicidal ideation (<jats:styled-content style=\"fixed-case\">SI</jats:styled-content>), as well as higher rates of depression and anxiety compared with their <jats:styled-content style=\"fixed-case\">SA</jats:styled-content> counterparts.
