{"doi":"10.1111/head.14468","title":"Virtual issue: Recent advances in pediatric headache: Bridging the data gap","abstract":"as pain freedom, changes in \"severe\" headache days, and a 50% or greater reduction in headache days, may not wholly represent what our patients and their families truly want from headache care.We are learning that patients and their families desire treatments that reduce pain, eliminate most bothersome symptoms, and produce few side effects. 8These findings lend further support to the recognized benefits of a multifaceted management strategy that includes pharmacologic and nonpharmacologic interventions for management of migraine. We present data demonstrating significant pain reduction and decreased emergency department utilization with administration of outpatient infusions of medications such as dihydroergotamine. 9,10Nonpharmacologic treatment approaches such as cognitive behavioral therapy are a cornerstone of evidence-based preventive care, 11 while neuromodulation represents a promising new treatment strategy for use within the pediatric age group. 12Finally, this issue contains comprehensive reviews of cyclic vomiting syndrome 13 and posttraumatic headache, 14 conditions commonly encountered in both general pediatric practices and subspecialty clinics. These reviews, along with the other manuscripts included in this virtual issue, aim to guide clinicians in their patient care, elucidate the underlying neurobiology of pediatric headache disorders, and identify areas of future research within the headache field. We continue to make progress toward our goal of closing the knowledge gap between pediatric and adult research and expanding the tools in our toolbox for treatment of children and adolescents with headache.","journal":"Headache The Journal of Head and Face Pain","year":2023,"id":402476,"datarank":0.0,"base_score":0.0,"endowment":0.0,"self_citation_contribution":0.0,"citation_network_contribution":0.0,"self_endowment_contribution":0.0,"citer_contribution":0.0,"corpus_percentile":null,"corpus_rank":null,"citation_count":0,"citer_count":0,"citers_with_citation_signal":0,"citers_with_endowment":0,"datacite_reuse_total":0,"is_dataset":false,"is_dataset_confidence":0.9515,"is_data_producer":false,"deposit_databanks":null,"is_oa":true,"file_count":0,"downloads":0,"has_version_chain":false,"published_date":"2023-01-01","fair_score":null,"fair_percentile":null,"algorithm_id":"datarank_citation_only_1hop_v6","ranking_scope":"data_only","authors":[{"id":728308,"name":"Robert C.
