Personalized PA prescriptions tailored to the individual health needs of older adults can optimize these benefits.This study explores implementing personalized walking programs using Fitbit devices to monitor and prescribe PA in older adults. The Home Automated Telemanagement (HAT) system was developed to enable remote monitoring and management of PA through a user-friendly interface and robust backend system. The HAT system integrates the Fitbit login, prescription management, and automatic record functionalities, allowing healthcare providers to prescribe individualized walking programs, monitor adherence, and adjust prescriptions based on real-time data. Data from the Fitbit devices, including daily steps, heart rate, calories burned, and sleep patterns, are collected and analyzed. The HAT system’s automated features enable timely patient and clinician feedback, promoting adherence to PA prescriptions and supporting clinical decision-making. Alerts are generated when patients fail to meet prescribed activity levels, prompting clinician intervention.The successful deployment of the HAT system demonstrates its potential to enhance the management of PA in older adults, providing a scalable solution for improving health outcomes through personalized PA prescriptions. Further research will focus on incorporating additional health metrics, such as real-time monitoring, to enhance the system’s capabilities and address the unique needs of older populations.","is_dataset_classified":null,"base_score":0.6931471805599453,"endowment":0.6931471805599453,"datacite_reuse_total":0,"file_count":0,"downloads":0,"views":0,"has_version_chain":false,"is_dataset":false,"is_oa":false,"pmid":"19965766","pmcid":null,"openalex_id":"https://openalex.org/W4404564248","authors":[],"funders":[],"total_grants":0,"fwci":1.1727,"citation_percentile":0.75559701,"influential_citations":0,"citation_trend":[{"year":2024,"count":1}],"oa_status":"closed","license":"https://doi.org/10.15223/policy-029","oa_locations":[{"url":"http://xplorestaging.ieee.org/ielx8/10754658/10754659/10754777.pdf?arnumber=10754777","host_type":"publisher"},{"url":"https://doi.org/10.1109/uemcon62879.2024.10754777","host_type":""}],"fields_of_study":["Stroke Rehabilitation and Recovery"],"mesh_terms":[],"keywords":["Computer science","Physical medicine and rehabilitation","Human–computer interaction","Medicine"],"sdg_mappings":[],"linked_datasets":[],"clinical_trials":[],"software_tools":[],"database_accessions":[],"source":"live","citation_network_status":"fetched"},"created_at":"2026-08-16T01:35:09.399454Z","pmid":null,"pmcid":null,"fwci":null,"citation_percentile":null,"influential_citations":0,"oa_status":null,"license":null,"views":0,"total_file_size_bytes":0,"version_count":0,"fair_f":null,"fair_a":null,"fair_i":null,"fair_r":null,"fair_zscore":null,"fair_rationale":null,"fair_model":null,"fair_agent_version":null,"fair_fulltext_source":null,"fair_has_llm":null,"fair_computed_at":null,"clinical_trials":[],"software_tools":[],"db_accessions":[],"linked_datasets":[],"topics":[]}
