Flicker noise, or 1/f noise, can be identified with the dynamics of the critical state. This picture also yields insight into the origin of fractal objects.","journal":"Physical Review Letters","year":1987,"id":7922,"datarank":23.74808140923299,"base_score":8.936166649549195,"endowment":8.936166649549195,"self_citation_contribution":1.3404249974323794,"citation_network_contribution":22.407656411800613,"self_endowment_contribution":1.3404249974323794,"citer_contribution":22.407656411800613,"corpus_percentile":95.6,"corpus_rank":1614,"citation_count":7601,"citer_count":189,"citers_with_citation_signal":189,"citers_with_endowment":189,"datacite_reuse_total":0,"is_dataset":false,"is_oa":false,"file_count":0,"downloads":0,"has_version_chain":false,"published_date":"1987-07-27","authors":[{"id":71248,"name":"Chao Tang","orcid":"0000-0003-1474-3705","position":1,"is_corresponding":false},{"id":71249,"name":"Kurt Wiesenfeld","orcid":"0000-0002-7758-1005","position":2,"is_corresponding":false},{"id":71247,"name":"Per Bak","orcid":null,"position":0,"is_corresponding":true}],"reference_count":5,"raw_metadata":{"citation_network_status":"fetched"},"created_at":"2026-03-01T18:20:47.508186Z","pmid":null,"pmcid":null,"fwci":null,"citation_percentile":null,"influential_citations":0,"oa_status":null,"license":null,"views":0,"total_file_size_bytes":0,"version_count":0,"clinical_trials":[],"software_tools":[],"db_accessions":[],"linked_datasets":[],"topics":[]}
