Vaccinated individuals were serially tested for their neutralization against wild-type SARS-CoV-2 (strain USA-WA1/2020) and an engineered USA-WA1/2020 bearing the Omicron spike glycoprotein. Plaque reduction neutralization results showed that at 2 or 4 weeks post-dose-2, the neutralization geometric mean titers (GMTs) were 511 and 20 against the wild-type and Omicron-spike viruses, respectively, suggesting that two doses of BNT162b2 were not sufficient to elicit robust neutralization against Omicron; at 1 month post-dose-3, the neutralization GMTs increased to 1342 and 336, respectively, indicating that three doses of vaccine increased the magnitude and breadth of neutralization against Omicron; at 4 months post-dose-3, the neutralization GMTs decreased to 820 and 171, respectively, suggesting similar neutralization decay kinetics for both variants. The data support a three-dose vaccine strategy and provide the first glimpse of the neutralization durability against Omicron.
","journal":null,"year":null,"id":593226,"datarank":0.8766664309128419,"base_score":2.772588722239781,"endowment":2.772588722239781,"self_citation_contribution":0.41588830833596724,"citation_network_contribution":0.46077812257687467,"self_endowment_contribution":0.41588830833596724,"citer_contribution":0.46077812257687467,"corpus_percentile":null,"corpus_rank":null,"citation_count":15,"citer_count":13,"citers_with_citation_signal":11,"citers_with_endowment":11,"datacite_reuse_total":0,"is_dataset":false,"is_dataset_confidence":null,"is_data_producer":false,"deposit_databanks":null,"is_oa":false,"file_count":0,"downloads":0,"has_version_chain":false,"published_date":null,"fair_score":null,"fair_percentile":null,"algorithm_id":"datarank_citation_only_1hop_v6","ranking_scope":"data_only","authors":[{"id":105308,"name":"Jing Zou","orcid":"0000-0002-8098-7284","position":1,"is_corresponding":false},{"id":805792,"name":"Chaitanya Kurhade","orcid":"0000-0002-6139-2461","position":2,"is_corresponding":false},{"id":601168,"name":"Hui Cai","orcid":"0000-0002-5423-6532","position":3,"is_corresponding":false},{"id":492520,"name":"Qi Yang","orcid":"0000-0002-5773-0456","position":4,"is_corresponding":false},{"id":85015,"name":"Mark Cutler","orcid":"0000-0002-5302-5477","position":5,"is_corresponding":false},{"id":38201,"name":"David Cooper","orcid":"0000-0002-4595-3943","position":6,"is_corresponding":false},{"id":84977,"name":"Alexander Muik","orcid":"0000-0003-4561-2273","position":7,"is_corresponding":false},{"id":38209,"name":"Kathrin U.
