Our approach is applicable when there is one or more other survival responses that 1. has a large number of observed events; 2. share a common set of associated predictors with the rare event response. This scenario is common in the UK Biobank (Sudlow et al. 2015) dataset where records for a large number of common and rare diseases of the same set of individuals are available. By analyzing these responses together, we hope to achieve higher prediction performance than when they are analyzed individually. To make this approach practical for large-scale data, we developed an accelerated proximal gradient optimization algorithm as well as a screening procedure inspired by Qian et al. (2019). We provide a software implementation of the proposed method and demonstrate its efficacy through simulations and applications to UK Biobank data.","journal":"bioRxiv (Cold Spring Harbor Laboratory)","year":2020,"id":124234,"datarank":0.23271972262184423,"base_score":1.3862943611198906,"endowment":1.3862943611198906,"self_citation_contribution":0.20794415416798362,"citation_network_contribution":0.024775568453860607,"self_endowment_contribution":0.20794415416798362,"citer_contribution":0.024775568453860607,"corpus_percentile":null,"corpus_rank":null,"citation_count":3,"citer_count":2,"citers_with_citation_signal":2,"citers_with_endowment":2,"datacite_reuse_total":0,"is_dataset":false,"is_dataset_confidence":0.9537,"is_data_producer":false,"deposit_databanks":null,"is_oa":true,"file_count":0,"downloads":0,"has_version_chain":false,"published_date":"2020-01-01","fair_score":null,"fair_percentile":null,"algorithm_id":"datarank_citation_only_1hop_v6","ranking_scope":"data_only","authors":[{"id":12683,"name":"Yosuke Tanigawa","orcid":"0000-0001-9759-157X","position":1,"is_corresponding":false},{"id":90125,"name":"Johanne Marie Justesen","orcid":"0000-0002-0484-8522","position":2,"is_corresponding":false},{"id":36827,"name":"Jonathan Taylor","orcid":"0000-0002-1716-7160","position":3,"is_corresponding":false},{"id":18841,"name":"Trevor Hastie","orcid":"0000-0002-0164-3142","position":4,"is_corresponding":false},{"id":4649,"name":"Robert Tibshirani","orcid":"0000-0003-0553-5090","position":5,"is_corresponding":false},{"id":14828,"name":"Manuel A.
