{"doi":"10.1101/2020.01.24.918516","title":"A comprehensive atlas of white matter tracts in the chimpanzee","abstract":"Abstract Chimpanzees ( Pan troglodytes ) are, along with bonobos, humans’ closest living relatives. The advent of diffusion MRI tractography in recent years has allowed a resurgence of comparative neuroanatomical studies in humans and other primate species. Here we offer, in comparative perspective, the first chimpanzee white matter atlas, constructed from in vivo chimpanzee diffusion-weighted scans. Comparative white matter atlases provide a useful tool for identifying neuroanatomical differences and similarities between humans and other primate species. Until now, comprehensive fascicular atlases have been created for humans ( Homo sapiens ), rhesus macaques ( Macaca mulatta) , and several other nonhuman primate species, but never in a nonhuman ape. Information on chimpanzee neuroanatomy is essential for understanding the anatomical specializations of white matter organization that are unique to the human lineage.","journal":"bioRxiv (Cold Spring Harbor Laboratory)","year":2020,"id":119974,"datarank":0.5204429417051119,"base_score":2.639057329615259,"endowment":2.639057329615259,"self_citation_contribution":0.3958585994422889,"citation_network_contribution":0.12458434226282294,"self_endowment_contribution":0.3958585994422889,"citer_contribution":0.12458434226282294,"corpus_percentile":62.822000464144814,"corpus_rank":4807,"citation_count":13,"citer_count":9,"citers_with_citation_signal":4,"citers_with_endowment":4,"datacite_reuse_total":0,"is_dataset":true,"is_dataset_confidence":0.9383,"is_data_producer":false,"deposit_databanks":null,"is_oa":true,"file_count":0,"downloads":0,"has_version_chain":false,"published_date":"2020-01-01","fair_score":null,"fair_percentile":null,"algorithm_id":"datarank_citation_only_1hop_v6","ranking_scope":"data_only","authors":[{"id":266704,"name":"Longchuan Li","orcid":"0000-0002-0559-0754","position":1,"is_corresponding":false},{"id":266703,"name":"Nicole Eichert","orcid":"0000-0001-7818-5787","position":2,"is_corresponding":false},{"id":110369,"name":"Rogier B.
