The disease was first reported in 1910 in the United States and has subsequently been observed in most tomato-producing regions worldwide. Although C. michiganensis subsp. michiganensis may survive in soil and other hosts, tomato seed is considered the most important source of primary inoculum. There is general agreement that worldwide distribution of the pathogen is the result of movement of contaminated seed. Disease symptoms, management methods, and a protocol for pathogen detection are included in this chapter.","is_dataset_classified":null,"base_score":1.6094379124341003,"endowment":1.6094379124341003,"datacite_reuse_total":0,"file_count":0,"downloads":0,"views":0,"has_version_chain":false,"is_dataset":false,"is_oa":false,"pmid":"19965766","pmcid":null,"openalex_id":"https://openalex.org/W2922169672","authors":[],"funders":[],"total_grants":0,"fwci":1.308,"citation_percentile":0.82772847,"influential_citations":0,"citation_trend":[{"year":2019,"count":1},{"year":2022,"count":2},{"year":2023,"count":1}],"oa_status":"closed","license":null,"oa_locations":[{"url":"https://apsjournals.apsnet.org/doi/pdf/10.1094/9780890545416.017","host_type":"publisher"},{"url":"https://doi.org/10.1094/9780890545416.017","host_type":"ebook platform"}],"fields_of_study":["Plant Pathogenic Bacteria Studies","Legume Nitrogen Fixing Symbiosis","Agricultural pest management studies"],"mesh_terms":[],"keywords":["Clavibacter michiganensis","Biology","Sowing","Pathogen","Bacterial wilt","Horticulture","Microbiology"],"sdg_mappings":[{"sdg_number":0,"sdg_label":"Life in Land"}],"linked_datasets":[],"clinical_trials":[],"software_tools":[],"database_accessions":[],"source":"live","citation_network_status":"fetched"},"created_at":"2026-08-16T09:31:21.536498Z","pmid":null,"pmcid":null,"fwci":null,"citation_percentile":null,"influential_citations":0,"oa_status":null,"license":null,"views":0,"total_file_size_bytes":0,"version_count":0,"fair_f":null,"fair_a":null,"fair_i":null,"fair_r":null,"fair_zscore":null,"fair_rationale":null,"fair_model":null,"fair_agent_version":null,"fair_fulltext_source":null,"fair_has_llm":null,"fair_computed_at":null,"clinical_trials":[],"software_tools":[],"db_accessions":[],"linked_datasets":[],"topics":[]}
