The CSA and CSB genes are implicated in this disease. The clinical features of CS can also accompany the excision repair-defective hereditary disorder xeroderma pigmentosum (XP) from genetic complementation groups B, D or G. The XPB and XPD proteins are subunits of RNA polymerase II (RNAP II) transcription factor IIH (TFIIH). We show here that extracts of CS-A and CS-B cells, as well as those from XP-B/CS cells, support reduced levels of RNAP II transcription in vitro and that this feature is dependent on the state or quality of the template.","is_dataset_classified":null,"base_score":4.406719247264253,"endowment":4.406719247264253,"datacite_reuse_total":0,"file_count":0,"downloads":0,"views":0,"has_version_chain":false,"is_dataset":false,"is_oa":false,"pmid":"9278484","pmcid":"PMC146943","openalex_id":"https://openalex.org/W1985634689","authors":[],"funders":[],"total_grants":0,"fwci":1.7729,"citation_percentile":0.85075975,"influential_citations":0,"citation_trend":[{"year":2012,"count":1},{"year":2013,"count":4},{"year":2014,"count":2},{"year":2015,"count":3},{"year":2016,"count":2},{"year":2017,"count":2},{"year":2018,"count":1},{"year":2021,"count":4},{"year":2022,"count":2},{"year":2023,"count":2},{"year":2025,"count":3}],"oa_status":"bronze","license":null,"oa_locations":[{"url":"https://academic.oup.com/nar/article-pdf/25/18/3636/6288163/25-18-3636.pdf","host_type":"journal"},{"url":"https://academic.oup.com/nar/article-pdf/25/18/3636/6288163/25-18-3636.pdf","host_type":"publisher"},{"url":"http://academic.oup.com/nar/article-pdf/25/18/3636/6288163/25-18-3636.pdf","host_type":"publisher"},{"url":"https://doi.org/10.1093/nar/25.18.3636","host_type":"journal"},{"url":"https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/9278484","host_type":"repository"},{"url":"http://europepmc.org/pmc/articles/PMC146943","host_type":"repository"},{"url":"https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/146943","host_type":"repository"}],"fields_of_study":["DNA Repair Mechanisms","RNA modifications and cancer","Cancer-related Molecular Pathways","Cell Line","Cockayne Syndrome","Humans","RNA Polymerase II","Transcription, Genetic","Xeroderma Pigmentosum"],"mesh_terms":["Cell Line","Cockayne Syndrome","Humans","RNA Polymerase II","Transcription, Genetic","Xeroderma Pigmentosum"],"keywords":["Xeroderma pigmentosum","Cockayne syndrome","Transcription factor II H","Biology","Nucleotide excision repair","Complementation","RNA polymerase II","Transcription (linguistics)","Genetics","Molecular biology","DNA repair","Gene","Gene expression","Phenotype","Promoter"],"sdg_mappings":[{"sdg_number":0,"sdg_label":"Good health and well-being"}],"linked_datasets":[],"clinical_trials":[],"software_tools":[],"database_accessions":[],"source":"live","citation_network_status":"fetched"},"created_at":"2026-07-23T13:00:21.467630Z","pmid":null,"pmcid":null,"fwci":null,"citation_percentile":null,"influential_citations":0,"oa_status":null,"license":null,"views":0,"total_file_size_bytes":0,"version_count":0,"fair_f":null,"fair_a":null,"fair_i":null,"fair_r":null,"fair_zscore":null,"fair_rationale":null,"fair_model":null,"fair_agent_version":null,"fair_fulltext_source":null,"fair_has_llm":null,"fair_computed_at":null,"clinical_trials":[],"software_tools":[],"db_accessions":[],"linked_datasets":[],"topics":[]}
