Temporally precise transcranial magnetic stimulation (TMS) was delivered over the human frontal eye fields, the area most frequently associated with the premotor theory in association with eye movements, while subjects performed a visually instructed pro-/antisaccade task. Visual analysis and saccade preparation were clearly separated in time, as indicated by 2 distinct time points of TMS delivery that resulted in elevated saccade latencies. These results show that visual analysis and saccade preparation, although frequently enacted together, are dissociable processes.","is_dataset_classified":null,"base_score":4.442651256490317,"endowment":4.442651256490317,"datacite_reuse_total":0,"file_count":0,"downloads":0,"views":0,"has_version_chain":false,"is_dataset":false,"is_oa":false,"pmid":"18326522","pmcid":"PMC2536703","openalex_id":"https://openalex.org/W2107544340","authors":[],"funders":[{"funder_name":"Medical Research Council","grant_id":"G0601975","title":null}],"total_grants":1,"fwci":4.8647,"citation_percentile":0.95798925,"influential_citations":0,"citation_trend":[{"year":2012,"count":8},{"year":2013,"count":6},{"year":2014,"count":6},{"year":2015,"count":2},{"year":2016,"count":1},{"year":2018,"count":6},{"year":2019,"count":4},{"year":2020,"count":2},{"year":2021,"count":3},{"year":2023,"count":5},{"year":2024,"count":3},{"year":2025,"count":3}],"oa_status":"bronze","license":null,"oa_locations":[{"url":"https://academic.oup.com/cercor/article-pdf/18/10/2410/1090342/bhn001.pdf","host_type":"journal"},{"url":"https://academic.oup.com/cercor/article-pdf/18/10/2410/1090342/bhn001.pdf","host_type":"publisher"},{"url":"http://academic.oup.com/cercor/article-pdf/18/10/2410/1090342/bhn001.pdf","host_type":"publisher"},{"url":"https://doi.org/10.1093/cercor/bhn001","host_type":"journal"},{"url":"https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/18326522","host_type":"repository"},{"url":"https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/2536703","host_type":"repository"},{"url":"http://citeseerx.ist.psu.edu/viewdoc/summary?doi=10.1.1.527.6268","host_type":""},{"url":"http://discovery.ucl.ac.uk/126487/","host_type":"repository"},{"url":"http://cercor.oxfordjournals.org/cgi/content/short/18/10/2410","host_type":"repository"},{"url":"https://ora.ox.ac.uk/objects/uuid:d1101142-26d3-4064-8c3b-5877b26e182b","host_type":"repository"}],"fields_of_study":["Neural and Behavioral Psychology Studies","Visual perception and processing mechanisms","Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation Studies","Adult","Attention","Frontal Lobe","Humans","Male","Photic Stimulation","Reaction Time","Saccades","Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation","Visual Perception","Young Adult"],"mesh_terms":["Adult","Attention","Frontal Lobe","Humans","Male","Photic Stimulation","Reaction Time","Saccades","Visual Perception","Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation","Young Adult"],"keywords":["Saccade","Eye movement","Frontal eye fields","Psychology","Supplementary eye field","Neuroscience","Transcranial magnetic stimulation","Premotor cortex","Cognitive psychology","Stimulation","Dorsum","Biology"],"sdg_mappings":[],"linked_datasets":[],"clinical_trials":[],"software_tools":[],"database_accessions":[],"source":"live","citation_network_status":"fetched"},"created_at":"2026-08-17T03:52:32.425791Z","pmid":null,"pmcid":null,"fwci":null,"citation_percentile":null,"influential_citations":0,"oa_status":null,"license":null,"views":0,"total_file_size_bytes":0,"version_count":0,"fair_f":null,"fair_a":null,"fair_i":null,"fair_r":null,"fair_zscore":null,"fair_rationale":null,"fair_model":null,"fair_agent_version":null,"fair_fulltext_source":null,"fair_has_llm":null,"fair_computed_at":null,"clinical_trials":[],"software_tools":[],"db_accessions":[],"linked_datasets":[],"topics":[]}
