{"doi":"10.1089/whr.2023.0192","title":"Predictors of Postpartum Hemorrhage and Associated Outcomes at a Midwest Academic Medical Center","abstract":"Background: Postpartum hemorrhage (PPH) remains a significant cause of maternal morbidity and mortality around the world, with rates increasing in the United States. The objective of this study was to determine predictors of, and outcomes associated with, PPH at a Midwest academic health center. Methods: Demographic and clinical data were obtained from the electronic medical record on all consecutive delivering patients between May 1, 2020, and April 30, 2021. Associations between PPH and perinatal characteristics and outcomes were assessed using logistic regression models. A significance threshold of 0.05 was used for all comparisons. Results: < 0.001). Conclusion: Our findings confirm previous literature that preexisting and pregnancy-related hypertension, diabetes mellitus, multiple gestation, cesarean delivery, and assisted vaginal delivery are important predictors of PPH. In addition, we found that neonates of mothers with PPH had more adverse outcomes. These results may help to inform clinical care as rates of PPH continue to rise in the United States.","journal":"Women s Health Reports","year":2024,"id":497072,"datarank":0.0,"base_score":0.0,"endowment":0.0,"self_citation_contribution":0.0,"citation_network_contribution":0.0,"self_endowment_contribution":0.0,"citer_contribution":0.0,"corpus_percentile":null,"corpus_rank":null,"citation_count":0,"citer_count":0,"citers_with_citation_signal":0,"citers_with_endowment":0,"datacite_reuse_total":0,"is_dataset":false,"is_dataset_confidence":0.6204,"is_data_producer":false,"deposit_databanks":null,"is_oa":true,"file_count":0,"downloads":0,"has_version_chain":false,"published_date":"2024-01-01","fair_score":null,"fair_percentile":null,"algorithm_id":"datarank_citation_only_1hop_v6","ranking_scope":"data_only","authors":[{"id":1274327,"name":"Natalie Voss","orcid":null,"position":1,"is_corresponding":false},{"id":832955,"name":"Linder Wendt","orcid":"0000-0003-1832-0486","position":2,"is_corresponding":false},{"id":703597,"name":"Kimberly A.
