{"doi":"10.1073/pnas.79.18.5485","title":"Neuropeptide Y: complete amino acid sequence of the brain peptide.","abstract":"<jats:p>The amino acid sequence of neuropeptide Y, a 36-residue peptide recently isolated from porcine brain, has been determined by using high performance liquid chromatography for separation of its tryptic and chymotryptic fragments and subsequent sequence analysis of the isolated fragments by an improved dansyl Edman subtractive technique. The amino acid sequence of neuropeptide Y has been found to be: Tyr-Pro-Ser-Lys-Pro-Asp-Asn-Pro-Gly-Glu-Asp-Ala-Pro-Ala-Glu-Asp-Leu-Ala-Arg-Tyr -Tyr-Ser-Ala-Leu-Arg-His-Tyr-Ile-Asn-Leu-Ile-Thr-Arg-Gln-Arg-Tyr-NH2. Neuropeptide Y has a high degree of sequence homology with peptide YY (70%), the newly isolated porcine intestinal peptide, and pancreatic polypeptide (50%). It is therefore proposed that neuropeptide Y, peptide YY, and pancreatic polypeptide are members of a newly recognized peptide family.</jats:p>","journal":"Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences","year":1982,"id":15727,"datarank":23.70848498970112,"base_score":7.228388451573604,"endowment":7.228388451573604,"self_citation_contribution":1.0842582677360408,"citation_network_contribution":22.62422672196508,"self_endowment_contribution":1.0842582677360408,"citer_contribution":22.62422672196508,"corpus_percentile":null,"corpus_rank":null,"citation_count":1377,"citer_count":200,"citers_with_citation_signal":200,"citers_with_endowment":200,"datacite_reuse_total":2,"is_dataset":false,"is_dataset_confidence":null,"is_oa":false,"file_count":0,"downloads":0,"has_version_chain":false,"published_date":null,"algorithm_id":"datarank_citation_only_1hop_v6","ranking_scope":"data_only","authors":[{"id":118894,"name":"K Tatemoto","orcid":null,"position":0,"is_corresponding":false}],"reference_count":0,"raw_metadata":{"has_enrichment":true,"base_score":7.228388451573604,"endowment":7.228388451573604,"datacite_reuse_total":2,"file_count":0,"downloads":0,"views":0,"has_version_chain":false,"is_dataset":false,"is_oa":false,"pmid":"6957876","pmcid":"PMC346928","openalex_id":"https://openalex.org/W2062636887","authors":[],"funders":[],"total_grants":0,"fwci":20.6132,"citation_percentile":0.99927501,"influential_citations":13,"citation_trend":[{"year":2012,"count":23},{"year":2013,"count":18},{"year":2014,"count":12},{"year":2015,"count":12},{"year":2016,"count":13},{"year":2017,"count":13},{"year":2018,"count":12},{"year":2019,"count":12},{"year":2020,"count":19},{"year":2021,"count":13},{"year":2022,"count":9},{"year":2023,"count":9},{"year":2024,"count":11},{"year":2025,"count":12},{"year":2026,"count":3}],"oa_status":"green","license":null,"oa_locations":[{"url":"https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/346928","host_type":"repository"},{"url":"https://europepmc.org/articles/pmc346928?pdf=render","host_type":"GREEN"},{"url":"https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/346928","host_type":"repository"},{"url":"https://pnas.org/doi/pdf/10.1073/pnas.79.18.5485","host_type":"publisher"},{"url":"https://doi.org/10.1073/pnas.79.18.5485","host_type":"journal"},{"url":"https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/6957876","host_type":"repository"},{"url":"http://europepmc.org/pmc/articles/PMC346928","host_type":"repository"}],"fields_of_study":["Neuropeptides and Animal Physiology","Biochemical effects in animals","Regulation of Appetite and Obesity","Medicine","Biology","Amino Acid Sequence","Animals","Brain Chemistry","Chymotrypsin","Dansyl Compounds","Nerve Tissue Proteins","Neuropeptide Y","Peptide Fragments","Swine","Trypsin"],"mesh_terms":["Amino Acid Sequence","Animals","Brain Chemistry","Chymotrypsin","Dansyl Compounds","Nerve Tissue Proteins","Neuropeptide Y","Peptide Fragments","Swine","Trypsin"],"keywords":["Pancreatic polypeptide","Peptide","Peptide sequence","Neuropeptide Y receptor","Peptide YY","Amino acid","Edman degradation","Neuropeptide","Biochemistry","Biology","Residue (chemistry)","Chemistry","Molecular biology","Receptor","Gene"],"sdg_mappings":[],"linked_datasets":[{"doi":"10.6084/m9.figshare.23280975.v1","title":"Additional file 1 of Pharmacological inhibition of neuropeptide Y receptors Y1 and Y5 reduces hypoxic breast cancer migration, proliferation, and signaling","publisher":"figshare","resource_type":"JournalArticle"},{"doi":"10.6084/m9.figshare.23280975","title":"Additional file 1 of Pharmacological inhibition of neuropeptide Y receptors Y1 and Y5 reduces hypoxic breast cancer migration, proliferation, and signaling","publisher":"figshare","resource_type":"JournalArticle"}],"clinical_trials":[],"software_tools":[],"database_accessions":[],"source":"live","citation_network_status":"fetched"},"created_at":"2026-06-01T18:47:26.825776Z","pmid":null,"pmcid":null,"fwci":null,"citation_percentile":null,"influential_citations":0,"oa_status":null,"license":null,"views":0,"total_file_size_bytes":0,"version_count":0,"clinical_trials":[],"software_tools":[],"db_accessions":[],"linked_datasets":[],"topics":[]}
