{"doi":"10.1073/pnas.70.12.3693","title":"A Mutant of\n            <i>Escherichia coli</i>\n            with a New, Highly Efficient Promoter for the Lactose Operon","abstract":"<jats:p>\n            We have isolated a mutant of\n            <jats:italic>E. coli</jats:italic>\n            whose maximal rate of synthesis of\n            <jats:italic>lac</jats:italic>\n            mRNA is 25-fold greater than that of its parental wild-type strain.
