Surprisingly, we first found that the therapeutic efficacy of PTT was improved owing to the down-regulation of heat shock protein 70 (HSP70) by chemotherapy. The two treatments had a synergistic promotion effect achieving higher cancer cell killing efficiency. Under 808 nm light irradiation, Cy-S-S-Cbl could effectively realize selective killing of cancer cells and tumor growth inhibition.
