Recently, several laboratories have independently reported a major breakthrough in this field. Together, these genetic, biochemical and cell-biological studies have demonstrated that the tuberin-hamartin complex inhibits target of rapamycin (TOR) signaling by acting as a GTPase-activating protein for the Ras-related small G protein Rheb.","is_dataset_classified":null,"base_score":6.20455776256869,"endowment":6.20455776256869,"datacite_reuse_total":0,"file_count":0,"downloads":0,"views":0,"has_version_chain":false,"is_dataset":false,"is_oa":false,"pmid":"14607085","pmcid":null,"openalex_id":"https://openalex.org/W2036254130","authors":[],"funders":[{"funder_name":"NIGMS NIH HHS","grant_id":"R01 GM056203","title":null}],"total_grants":1,"fwci":18.473,"citation_percentile":0.99692528,"influential_citations":0,"citation_trend":[{"year":2012,"count":25},{"year":2013,"count":33},{"year":2014,"count":22},{"year":2015,"count":23},{"year":2016,"count":14},{"year":2017,"count":19},{"year":2018,"count":10},{"year":2019,"count":7},{"year":2020,"count":15},{"year":2021,"count":37},{"year":2022,"count":9},{"year":2023,"count":13},{"year":2024,"count":6},{"year":2025,"count":3},{"year":2026,"count":6}],"oa_status":"closed","license":"https://www.elsevier.com/tdm/userlicense/1.0/","oa_locations":[{"url":"https://api.elsevier.com/content/article/PII:S0968-0004(03)00227-5?httpAccept=text/xml","host_type":"publisher"},{"url":"https://api.elsevier.com/content/article/PII:S0968-0004(03)00227-5?httpAccept=text/plain","host_type":"publisher"},{"url":"https://doi.org/10.1016/j.tibs.2003.09.003","host_type":"journal"},{"url":"https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/14607085","host_type":"repository"}],"fields_of_study":["Tuberous Sclerosis Complex Research","PI3K/AKT/mTOR signaling in cancer","Mast cells and histamine","GTPase-Activating Proteins","Genes, Tumor Suppressor","Humans","Monomeric GTP-Binding Proteins","Neuropeptides","Protein Kinases","Proteins","Ras Homolog Enriched in Brain Protein","Repressor Proteins","Signal Transduction","TOR Serine-Threonine Kinases","Tuberous Sclerosis","Tuberous Sclerosis Complex 1 Protein","Tuberous Sclerosis Complex 2 Protein","Tumor Suppressor Proteins"],"mesh_terms":["Ras Homolog Enriched in Brain Protein","Tuberous Sclerosis Complex 1 Protein","Tuberous Sclerosis Complex 2 Protein","Humans","Neuropeptides","Protein Kinases","Proteins","Repressor Proteins","Tuberous Sclerosis","Signal Transduction","Genes, Tumor Suppressor","Monomeric GTP-Binding Proteins","GTPase-Activating Proteins","Tumor Suppressor Proteins","TOR Serine-Threonine Kinases"],"keywords":["TSC1","RHEB","TSC2","Tuberous sclerosis","Small GTPase","GTPase","Biology","Cell biology","GTPase-activating protein","TOR signaling","Multiprotein complex","Gene","Signal transduction","mTORC1","Genetics","PI3K/AKT/mTOR pathway","G protein","Medicine"],"sdg_mappings":[],"linked_datasets":[],"clinical_trials":[],"software_tools":[],"database_accessions":[],"source":"live","citation_network_status":"fetched"},"created_at":"2026-08-11T03:51:53.484191Z","pmid":null,"pmcid":null,"fwci":null,"citation_percentile":null,"influential_citations":0,"oa_status":null,"license":null,"views":0,"total_file_size_bytes":0,"version_count":0,"fair_f":null,"fair_a":null,"fair_i":null,"fair_r":null,"fair_zscore":null,"fair_rationale":null,"fair_model":null,"fair_agent_version":null,"fair_fulltext_source":null,"fair_has_llm":null,"fair_computed_at":null,"clinical_trials":[],"software_tools":[],"db_accessions":[],"linked_datasets":[],"topics":[]}
