{"doi":"10.1016/j.rpth.2023.100038","title":"Implementing guidelines to prevent cancer associated thrombosis: how can we do better?","abstract":"Societal guidelines addressing the prevention of venous thromboembolism (VTE) in ambulatory patients with cancer are numerous [1]. The need for guidelines is driven by an increased risk of VTE among patients with cancer (with 70% to 80% of events occurring in the outpatient setting) and the high cost of VTE management in this patient population, including decreased quality of life, increased bleeding, and early mortality in some cases [2].
