The IPAQ-C was administered three times to each participant to examine the stability and reliability of the self-reported physical activity, whilst data to examine concurrent validity were acquired over 7 consecutive days using a physical activity log (PA-log), and an MTI accelerometer. A complete set of data was obtained from 49 Chinese residents (range 15-55 years; 30 males). The total physical activity recorded by IPAQ-C was acceptably reliable (ICC of 0.79 and %CV of 26%). There was weak agreement between IPAQ-C and the total MTI-derived activity and any of its constituent sub-components. Better agreement was seen between IPAQ-C and the PA-log data, with no significant difference between average total activity (3931 and 4047 MET min week(-1), respectively, p=0.51), and a bias and LOA of 3% and 94% of the mean score, respectively. Although these statistics are not dissimilar to those reported on other self-report physical activity questionnaires, suggesting the IPAQ-C is adequately reliable and valid for the measurement of total physical activity in a Chinese population, care needs to be taken, especially as the sub-components of total activity were markedly less valid and reliable.","is_dataset_classified":null,"base_score":6.349138991379798,"endowment":6.349138991379798,"datacite_reuse_total":25,"file_count":0,"downloads":0,"views":0,"has_version_chain":false,"is_dataset":false,"is_oa":false,"pmid":"16807105","pmcid":null,"openalex_id":"https://openalex.org/W2091045599","authors":[],"funders":[],"total_grants":0,"fwci":3.0744,"citation_percentile":0.91209523,"influential_citations":0,"citation_trend":[{"year":2012,"count":11},{"year":2013,"count":9},{"year":2014,"count":18},{"year":2015,"count":14},{"year":2016,"count":13},{"year":2017,"count":15},{"year":2018,"count":18},{"year":2019,"count":20},{"year":2020,"count":44},{"year":2021,"count":47},{"year":2022,"count":61},{"year":2023,"count":58},{"year":2024,"count":84},{"year":2025,"count":69},{"year":2026,"count":49}],"oa_status":"closed","license":"https://www.elsevier.com/tdm/userlicense/1.0/","oa_locations":[{"url":"https://api.elsevier.com/content/article/PII:S1440244006000867?httpAccept=text/xml","host_type":"publisher"},{"url":"https://api.elsevier.com/content/article/PII:S1440244006000867?httpAccept=text/plain","host_type":"publisher"},{"url":"https://doi.org/10.1016/j.jsams.2006.05.003","host_type":"journal"},{"url":"https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/16807105","host_type":"repository"},{"url":"http://hdl.handle.net/10722/87872","host_type":"repository"}],"fields_of_study":["Physical
