OBJECTIVE: To describe and compare treatment patterns and disease burden between patients with diagnosed or predicted HES and those without HES with elevated blood eosinophil count (BEC). METHODS: test for categorical variables. RESULTS: The study included 212 patients in group 1, 8089 in group 2, and 132,945 in group 3. Approximately 62.3% of group 1 patients received 1 or more HES-related treatment, with corticosteroids being the most common (59.0%). The most common disease manifestations were those related to the upper airway/pulmonary (61.8%), constitutional (46.2%), dermatologic (35.8%), and gastrointestinal systems (34.4%). Among patients in group 1, 22.2%, 97.2%, and 25.9% had 1 or more inpatient, outpatient, and emergency department visit, respectively. Compared with group 3, groups 1 and 2 had more corticosteroid use and health care resource utilization (all P < .05). CONCLUSIONS: Patients with HES had a substantial clinical and health care resource utilization burden versus those without HES with elevated BEC.","journal":"The Journal of Allergy and Clinical Immunology In Practice","year":2025,"id":581442,"datarank":0.0,"base_score":0.0,"endowment":0.0,"self_citation_contribution":0.0,"citation_network_contribution":0.0,"self_endowment_contribution":0.0,"citer_contribution":0.0,"corpus_percentile":null,"corpus_rank":null,"citation_count":0,"citer_count":0,"citers_with_citation_signal":0,"citers_with_endowment":0,"datacite_reuse_total":0,"is_dataset":false,"is_dataset_confidence":0.504,"is_data_producer":false,"deposit_databanks":null,"is_oa":true,"file_count":0,"downloads":0,"has_version_chain":false,"published_date":"2025-01-01","fair_score":null,"fair_percentile":null,"algorithm_id":"datarank_citation_only_1hop_v6","ranking_scope":"data_only","authors":[{"id":1294483,"name":"Donna Carstens","orcid":null,"position":1,"is_corresponding":false},{"id":973163,"name":"Fan Mu","orcid":"0000-0003-0252-0387","position":2,"is_corresponding":false},{"id":378884,"name":"Erin Cook","orcid":"0000-0001-9737-9130","position":3,"is_corresponding":false},{"id":1111623,"name":"Yen Chung","orcid":"0000-0003-1587-4774","position":4,"is_corresponding":false},{"id":1452229,"name":"Mu Cheng","orcid":null,"position":5,"is_corresponding":false},{"id":1452230,"name":"Elizabeth Judson","orcid":null,"position":6,"is_corresponding":false},{"id":1451686,"name":"Jingyi Chen","orcid":"0000-0003-0361-4844","position":7,"is_corresponding":false},{"id":1451687,"name":"Travis Wang","orcid":"0000-0002-1175-1884","position":8,"is_corresponding":false},{"id":1451688,"name":"Zhuo Chen","orcid":"0009-0009-6026-2006","position":9,"is_corresponding":false},{"id":237528,"name":"Paneez Khoury","orcid":"0000-0003-1800-0079","position":10,"is_corresponding":false},{"id":749088,"name":"Princess U.
