The World Professional Association for Transgender Health states that all recommendations for gender-affirming care made in the Standards of Care-8 be applied equally to people living in institutions. Understanding the structural challenges to gender-affirming care in the corrections environment will allow the endocrinologist to navigate the complex correctional health care system.
