The microbial community composition and structure in all sediment samples was obtained by 16S rRNA gene amplicon sequencing. Primers targeting the 16S rRNA gene V4 region were used to produce 16S rRNA gene amplicons that were sequencing with the high-throughput Illumina MiSeq platform and sequencing chemistry.
