The aerodigestive tract includes the pharynx (nasopharynx, oropharynx, and laryngopharynx), larynx, trachea, bronchi, and bronchioles, esophagus, and esophageal gastric junction. Airway protection (AirPro) remains a key but underrecognized function of the alimentary tract.
