{"doi":"10.1016/j.cdnut.2025.106199","title":"The Association Between Sodium-to-Potassium Intake Ratio and Vascular Endothelial Function, and the Role of Insulin Resistance","abstract":"Objectives: Dietary sodium-to-potassium ratio (Na:K) is a better predictor of cardiovascular disease (CVD) risk than Na+ or K+ intake alone. However, the link between Na:K and vascular endothelial function assessed via flow-mediated dilation (FMD), a subclinical precursor to CVD, is unknown. Further, insulin resistance is associated with higher Na+ intake, lower K+ intake, and greater CVD risk; whether it affects the relation between Na:K and FMD is unknown.
