{"doi":"10.1016/j.cdnut.2024.103012","title":"Infants Following Baby-Led Weaning Had Increased Growth Trajectories Compared to Conventional Weaning While Consuming Similar Energy","abstract":"maternal serum folate concentrations were associated with adiposity at birth, 5 months and 5 years as measured by air displacement plethysmography and if so, whether there was effect modification by maternal serum choline concentrations.Maternal pre-pregnancy BMI, age, parity, and infant sex were considered covariates.Analyses were conducted in R version 4.3.1.Results: Maternal serum folate concentrations were bimodally distributed in this population.Higher mean offspring adiposity (9.6% AE 4.3) was noted in those born to mothers with higher folate concentrations compared to those born to mothers with lower folate concentrations (8.4% AE 3.8) (p0.02).In the fully adjusted regression model, every 10 ng/mL increment in maternal serum folate concentration corresponded to a 1.2% higher adiposity at birth and a 4.1% higher adiposity at 5 years of age.There was no relationship with percent adiposity at 5 months of age.Effect modification by categorical serum choline concentrations was not statistically significant.Conclusions: Maternal serum folate concentrations at ~17 weeks' gestation associated with neonatal and childhood adiposity.In well-nourished populations, exceeding the recommended dietary allowance for folic acid during pregnancy can result in elevated maternal serum folate concentrations that can contribute to higher offspring adiposity.","journal":"Current Developments in Nutrition","year":2024,"id":500245,"datarank":0.0,"base_score":0.0,"endowment":0.0,"self_citation_contribution":0.0,"citation_network_contribution":0.0,"self_endowment_contribution":0.0,"citer_contribution":0.0,"corpus_percentile":null,"corpus_rank":null,"citation_count":0,"citer_count":0,"citers_with_citation_signal":0,"citers_with_endowment":0,"datacite_reuse_total":0,"is_dataset":false,"is_dataset_confidence":0.9416,"is_data_producer":false,"deposit_databanks":null,"is_oa":true,"file_count":0,"downloads":0,"has_version_chain":false,"published_date":"2024-01-01","fair_score":null,"fair_percentile":null,"algorithm_id":"datarank_citation_only_1hop_v6","ranking_scope":"data_only","authors":[{"id":1349600,"name":"Mikayla L Hernandez","orcid":null,"position":1,"is_corresponding":false},{"id":11301,"name":"Audrey E.
