The purpose of this statement is to review the results of this trial and provide guidance for the implementation of the study findings. Based on the available evidence, SMFM recommends treatment with antihypertensive therapy for mild chronic hypertension in pregnancy to a goal blood pressure of <140/90 mm Hg.
