The extent of such practice in the United Kingdom (UK) is unknown. To gain an understanding of the current state of practice and opinions about HAI and AAT for neurorehabilitation following ABI in the UK. Healthcare workers in neurorehabilitation inpatient units in the UK were invited to respond to an online survey about their experiences and opinions of HAI and AAT. 59 people responded to the questionnaire. Responses were overwhelmingly positive about the experience, practice and effects of AAT for patients with ABI. Some potential and experienced concerns and problems were identified but these could be prevented or addressed. There is enthusiasm for AAT among neurorehabilitation healthcare professionals in the UK and a wide range of experience. There is scope for networking, research and the development of practice guidelines to support the implementation of AAT.","is_dataset_classified":null,"base_score":1.3862943611198906,"endowment":1.3862943611198906,"datacite_reuse_total":0,"file_count":0,"downloads":0,"views":0,"has_version_chain":false,"is_dataset":false,"is_oa":false,"pmid":"19767382","pmcid":null,"openalex_id":"https://openalex.org/W4388180313","authors":[],"funders":[],"total_grants":0,"fwci":0.7856,"citation_percentile":0.7827499,"influential_citations":0,"citation_trend":[{"year":2024,"count":1},{"year":2025,"count":1},{"year":2026,"count":1}],"oa_status":"hybrid","license":"cc-by","oa_locations":[{"url":"https://doi.org/10.1016/j.aimed.2023.10.004","host_type":"journal"},{"url":"https://doi.org/10.1016/j.aimed.2023.10.004","host_type":"publisher"},{"url":"https://api.elsevier.com/content/article/PII:S2212958823000824?httpAccept=text/xml","host_type":"publisher"},{"url":"https://api.elsevier.com/content/article/PII:S2212958823000824?httpAccept=text/plain","host_type":"publisher"},{"url":"https://nottingham-repository.worktribe.com/output/27069797","host_type":"repository"},{"url":"https://nottingham-repository.worktribe.com/file/27069797/1/1-s2.0-S2212958823000824-main","host_type":"repository"}],"fields_of_study":["Human-Animal Interaction Studies","Veterinary Orthopedics and Neurology","Traumatic Brain Injury Research"],"mesh_terms":[],"keywords":["Neurorehabilitation","Acquired brain injury","Enthusiasm","Medicine","Scope (computer science)","Scope of practice","Health care","Computer-assisted web interviewing","Rehabilitation","Psychology","Physical therapy","Political science"],"sdg_mappings":[],"linked_datasets":[],"clinical_trials":[],"software_tools":[],"database_accessions":[],"source":"live","citation_network_status":"fetched"},"created_at":"2026-08-09T01:41:09.667901Z","pmid":null,"pmcid":null,"fwci":null,"citation_percentile":null,"influential_citations":0,"oa_status":null,"license":null,"views":0,"total_file_size_bytes":0,"version_count":0,"fair_f":null,"fair_a":null,"fair_i":null,"fair_r":null,"fair_zscore":null,"fair_rationale":null,"fair_model":null,"fair_agent_version":null,"fair_fulltext_source":null,"fair_has_llm":null,"fair_computed_at":null,"clinical_trials":[],"software_tools":[],"db_accessions":[],"linked_datasets":[],"topics":[]}
