Both classes are composed of four subunits. Each subunit comprises a transmembrane region, intracellular N- and C-termini, and a C-terminal cyclic nucleotide-binding domain (CNBD). Binding of cyclic nucleotides to the CNBD promotes opening of both CNG and HCN channels. In case of CNG channels, binding of cyclic nucleotides to the CNBD is sufficient to open the channel. In contrast, HCN channels open upon membrane hyperpolarization and their activity is modulated by binding of cyclic nucleotides shifting the activation potential to more positive values. Although several high-resolution structures of CNBDs from HCN and CNG channels are available, the gating mechanism for murine HCN2 channel, which leads to the opening of the channel pore, is still poorly understood. As part of a structural investigation, here, we report the complete backbone and side chain resonance assignments of the murine HCN2 CNBD with part of the C-linker.","is_dataset_classified":null,"base_score":0.0,"endowment":0.0,"datacite_reuse_total":0,"file_count":0,"downloads":0,"views":0,"has_version_chain":false,"is_dataset":false,"is_oa":false,"pmid":"25324217","pmcid":null,"openalex_id":"https://openalex.org/W2011204814","authors":[],"funders":[],"total_grants":0,"fwci":0.0,"citation_percentile":0.06266428,"influential_citations":0,"citation_trend":[],"oa_status":"closed","license":"http://www.springer.com/tdm","oa_locations":[{"url":"http://link.springer.com/content/pdf/10.1007/s12104-014-9583-x.pdf","host_type":"publisher"},{"url":"http://link.springer.com/article/10.1007/s12104-014-9583-x/fulltext.html","host_type":"publisher"},{"url":"http://link.springer.com/content/pdf/10.1007/s12104-014-9583-x","host_type":"publisher"},{"url":"https://doi.org/10.1007/s12104-014-9583-x","host_type":"journal"},{"url":"https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/25324217","host_type":"repository"},{"url":"http://hdl.handle.net/11858/00-001M-0000-0028-61AC-6","host_type":"repository"},{"url":"http://hdl.handle.net/11858/00-001M-0000-0029-6D2C-8","host_type":"repository"}],"fields_of_study":["Ion channel regulation and function","Neuroscience and Neuropharmacology Research","Receptor Mechanisms and Signaling","Animals","Hyperpolarization-Activated Cyclic Nucleotide-Gated Channels","Ligands","Mice","Nuclear Magnetic Resonance, Biomolecular","Nucleotides, Cyclic","Protein Structure, Secondary","Protein Structure, Tertiary","Proton Magnetic Resonance Spectroscopy"],"mesh_terms":["Animals","Ligands","Nucleotides, Cyclic","Protein Structure, Secondary","Protein Structure, Tertiary","Nuclear Magnetic Resonance, Biomolecular","Mice","Hyperpolarization-Activated Cyclic Nucleotide-Gated Channels","Proton Magnetic Resonance Spectroscopy"],"keywords":["Cyclic nucleotide-gated ion channel","HCN channel","Chemistry","Cyclic nucleotide-binding domain","Ion channel","Biophysics","Hyperpolarization (physics)","Gating","Nucleotide","Ligand-gated ion channel","Potassium channel","Cyclic nucleotide","Stereochemistry","Biochemistry","Receptor","Biology","Nuclear magnetic resonance spectroscopy","cAMP","Heteronuclear Nmr","Apo State"],"sdg_mappings":[],"linked_datasets":[],"clinical_trials":[],"software_tools":[],"database_accessions":[],"source":"live","citation_network_status":"fetched"},"created_at":"2026-08-18T17:30:47.499412Z","pmid":null,"pmcid":null,"fwci":null,"citation_percentile":null,"influential_citations":0,"oa_status":null,"license":null,"views":0,"total_file_size_bytes":0,"version_count":0,"fair_f":null,"fair_a":null,"fair_i":null,"fair_r":null,"fair_zscore":null,"fair_rationale":null,"fair_model":null,"fair_agent_version":null,"fair_fulltext_source":null,"fair_has_llm":null,"fair_computed_at":null,"clinical_trials":[],"software_tools":[],"db_accessions":[],"linked_datasets":[],"topics":[]}
