Its signal is transmitted through transmembrane receptors, CC chemokine receptors, CCR1, CCR3 and CCR5. To examine gene expression of chemokine, CCL3L1, and its receptors, CCR1, CCR3 and CCR5, we analyzed tumor tissues from 21 patients with several types of primary gliomas. CCL3L1, CCR3 and CCR5 gene exhibited over-expression in 70% (7/10), 60% (6/10), and 60% (6/10) of glioblastoma, in comparison with lower frequencies seen in lower-grade gliomas. Transfection of CCL3L1-expression vector to glioblastoma cell line enhanced proliferation of the tumor cells. These data suggest that increased expression of the CCL3L1, CCR3 and CCR5 chemokine-receptors system is involved in brain tumorigenesis, especially in the progression of glioblastoma.","is_dataset_classified":null,"base_score":4.127134385045092,"endowment":4.127134385045092,"datacite_reuse_total":0,"file_count":0,"downloads":0,"views":0,"has_version_chain":false,"is_dataset":false,"is_oa":false,"pmid":"15662971","pmcid":null,"openalex_id":"https://openalex.org/W2012387879","authors":[],"funders":[],"total_grants":0,"fwci":0.7314,"citation_percentile":0.70065005,"influential_citations":0,"citation_trend":[{"year":2012,"count":4},{"year":2013,"count":4},{"year":2014,"count":2},{"year":2015,"count":3},{"year":2016,"count":2},{"year":2018,"count":1},{"year":2019,"count":4},{"year":2020,"count":4},{"year":2021,"count":3},{"year":2022,"count":3},{"year":2023,"count":3},{"year":2024,"count":1},{"year":2025,"count":6}],"oa_status":"closed","license":"http://www.springer.com/tdm","oa_locations":[{"url":"http://link.springer.com/content/pdf/10.1007/s11060-004-9165-3.pdf","host_type":"publisher"},{"url":"http://link.springer.com/article/10.1007/s11060-004-9165-3/fulltext.html","host_type":"publisher"},{"url":"http://link.springer.com/content/pdf/10.1007/s11060-004-9165-3","host_type":"publisher"},{"url":"https://doi.org/10.1007/s11060-004-9165-3","host_type":"journal"},{"url":"https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/15662971","host_type":"repository"}],"fields_of_study":["Chemokine receptors and signaling","Immunotherapy and Immune Responses","T-cell and B-cell Immunology"],"mesh_terms":["Brain Neoplasms","Glioblastoma","Humans","RNA, Messenger","Transfection","Up-Regulation","Gene Expression","Receptors, Chemokine","Receptors, CCR5","Chemokines, CC","Reverse Transcriptase Polymerase Chain Reaction","Cell Proliferation","Receptors, CCR3"],"keywords":["CCR1","Chemokine receptor","CCR3","CC chemokine receptors","C-C chemokine receptor type 6","XCL2","CCL21","CCL13","Cancer research","Chemokine receptor CCR5","Chemokine","CCL3","Biology","CCR2","Receptor","CCL7","Cell biology","CCL2"],"sdg_mappings":[{"sdg_number":0,"sdg_label":"Good health and well-being"}],"linked_datasets":[],"clinical_trials":[],"software_tools":[],"database_accessions":[],"source":"live","citation_network_status":"fetched"},"created_at":"2026-08-01T18:26:30.880636Z","pmid":null,"pmcid":null,"fwci":null,"citation_percentile":null,"influential_citations":0,"oa_status":null,"license":null,"views":0,"total_file_size_bytes":0,"version_count":0,"fair_f":null,"fair_a":null,"fair_i":null,"fair_r":null,"fair_zscore":null,"fair_rationale":null,"fair_model":null,"fair_agent_version":null,"fair_fulltext_source":null,"fair_has_llm":null,"fair_computed_at":null,"clinical_trials":[],"software_tools":[],"db_accessions":[],"linked_datasets":[],"topics":[]}
