These items were combined to form an acculturation scale. We performed psychometric analysis of scale properties. Greater duration of residence in the U.S., greater percentage of lifetime in the U.S., and younger age at immigration were associated with more acculturated responses to the items for Asian Indians. Item-scale correlations for the 11-item acculturation scale ranged from 0.28–0.55 and internal consistency reliability was 0.73. Some support was found for a two-factor solution; one factor corresponding to cultural activities (α = 0.70) and the other to social behaviors (α = 0.59). Temporal measures only partially capture the full dimensions of acculturation. Our scale captured several domains and possibly two dimensions of acculturation.","is_dataset_classified":null,"base_score":0.0,"endowment":0.0,"datacite_reuse_total":0,"file_count":0,"downloads":0,"views":0,"has_version_chain":false,"is_dataset":false,"is_oa":false,"pmid":"23649666","pmcid":null,"openalex_id":null,"authors":[],"funders":[{"funder_name":"National Institutes of Health","grant_id":"5P50HL105188-04","title":"Research Methods"},{"funder_name":"National Institutes of Health","grant_id":"1P20MD000182-01","title":"Core--Shared resources: methodology"},{"funder_name":"National Institutes of Health","grant_id":"5T32PE019001-08","title":"NATIONAL RESEARCH SERVICE AWARD"},{"funder_name":"National Institutes of Health","grant_id":"3P30AG021684-08S3","title":"The Center for Health Improvement of Minority Elderly"}],"total_grants":4,"fwci":null,"citation_percentile":null,"influential_citations":2,"citation_trend":[],"oa_status":"green","license":"Springer TDM","oa_locations":[{"url":"https://europepmc.org/articles/pmc3905052?pdf=render","host_type":"GREEN"},{"url":"https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/3905052","host_type":"repository"},{"url":"http://link.springer.com/content/pdf/10.1007/s10903-013-9837-1.pdf","host_type":"publisher"},{"url":"http://link.springer.com/article/10.1007/s10903-013-9837-1/fulltext.html","host_type":"publisher"},{"url":"http://link.springer.com/content/pdf/10.1007/s10903-013-9837-1","host_type":"publisher"},{"url":"https://doi.org/10.1007/s10903-013-9837-1","host_type":""},{"url":"https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/23649666","host_type":""},{"url":"https://dx.doi.org/10.1007/s10903-013-9837-1","host_type":""}],"fields_of_study":["Medicine","Psychology","Sociology","03 medical and health sciences","0302 clinical medicine","0305 other medical science"],"mesh_terms":[],"keywords":["Adult","Male","Time Factors","Age Factors","Emigrants and Immigrants","India","Reproducibility of Results","United States","Surveys and Questionnaires","Humans","Female","Acculturation"],"sdg_mappings":[{"sdg_number":2,"sdg_label":"2.
