Performance was assessed in 32 siblings and children of schizophrenic patients and 32 matched controls using Wisconsin Card Sorting Test, Colour-Word-Interference-Test, Trail Making Test, and d2-Concentration-Test. The first-degree relatives showed certain impairments on all four tests, in particular, slower times on all time-limited tests. These results suggest the need for more time when completing neuropsychological tasks involving selected and focused attention, as well as cognitive flexibility, as a possible indicator of genetic vulnerability to schizophrenia.","is_dataset_classified":null,"base_score":3.4657359027997265,"endowment":3.4657359027997265,"datacite_reuse_total":0,"file_count":0,"downloads":0,"views":0,"has_version_chain":false,"is_dataset":false,"is_oa":false,"pmid":"16721500","pmcid":"PMC1705537","openalex_id":"https://openalex.org/W2017999835","authors":[],"funders":[],"total_grants":0,"fwci":2.0887,"citation_percentile":0.8513565,"influential_citations":0,"citation_trend":[{"year":2012,"count":6},{"year":2013,"count":1},{"year":2014,"count":1},{"year":2018,"count":1},{"year":2019,"count":1},{"year":2021,"count":1},{"year":2022,"count":1}],"oa_status":"hybrid","license":"cc-by-nc","oa_locations":[{"url":"https://link.springer.com/content/pdf/10.1007/s00787-006-0547-2.pdf","host_type":"journal"},{"url":"https://link.springer.com/content/pdf/10.1007/s00787-006-0547-2.pdf","host_type":"publisher"},{"url":"https://link.springer.com/article/10.1007/s00787-006-0547-2/fulltext.html","host_type":"publisher"},{"url":"http://link.springer.com/content/pdf/10.1007/s00787-006-0547-2.pdf","host_type":"publisher"},{"url":"https://doi.org/10.1007/s00787-006-0547-2","host_type":"journal"},{"url":"https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/16721500","host_type":"repository"},{"url":"https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/1705537","host_type":"repository"},{"url":"https://europepmc.org/articles/PMC1705537","host_type":"Europe_PMC"},{"url":"https://europepmc.org/articles/PMC1705537?pdf=render","host_type":"Europe_PMC"}],"fields_of_study":["Schizophrenia research and treatment","Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder","Bipolar Disorder and Treatment","Adolescent","Attention","Cognition Disorders","Female","Frontal Lobe","Humans","Male","Neuropsychological Tests","Problem Solving","Psychometrics","Reaction Time","Schizophrenia","Schizotypal Personality Disorder","Siblings","Statistics as Topic"],"mesh_terms":["Adolescent","Attention","Cognition Disorders","Female","Frontal Lobe","Humans","Male","Neuropsychological Tests","Problem Solving","Psychometrics","Reaction Time","Schizophrenia","Schizotypal Personality Disorder","Statistics as Topic","Siblings"],"keywords":["Wisconsin Card Sorting Test","Cognitive flexibility","Executive functions","Psychology","Schizophrenia (object-oriented programming)","Neuropsychology","Trail Making Test","First-degree relatives","Neuropsychological test","Frontal lobe","Audiology","Cognition","Test (biology)","Developmental psychology","Clinical psychology","Psychiatry","Medicine","Family history"],"sdg_mappings":[],"linked_datasets":[],"clinical_trials":[],"software_tools":[],"database_accessions":[],"source":"live","citation_network_status":"fetched"},"created_at":"2026-08-18T16:50:21.540097Z","pmid":null,"pmcid":null,"fwci":null,"citation_percentile":null,"influential_citations":0,"oa_status":null,"license":null,"views":0,"total_file_size_bytes":0,"version_count":0,"fair_f":null,"fair_a":null,"fair_i":null,"fair_r":null,"fair_zscore":null,"fair_rationale":null,"fair_model":null,"fair_agent_version":null,"fair_fulltext_source":null,"fair_has_llm":null,"fair_computed_at":null,"clinical_trials":[],"software_tools":[],"db_accessions":[],"linked_datasets":[],"topics":[]}
