Different sites of their pelvic floor muscle were examined digitally according to the suggestions of the International Continence Society from two investigators blinded to the clinical data in two consecutive visits and pain scores were obtained. Level of agreement between investigators, inter-rater and intra-rater reliability were assessed.<h4>Results</h4>Overall pain scores were low. There were statistically significant differences between scores at different pelvic sites, with the levator ani showing the lowest scores. Reliability was heterogeneous among pelvic sites, varying from poor to excellent.<h4>Conclusions</h4>Pain upon palpation of the pelvic floor muscle in asymptomatic, nulliparous women should be considered an uncommon finding.","is_dataset_classified":null,"base_score":3.1780538303479458,"endowment":3.1780538303479458,"datacite_reuse_total":0,"file_count":0,"downloads":0,"views":0,"has_version_chain":false,"is_dataset":false,"is_oa":false,"pmid":"22707005","pmcid":null,"openalex_id":"https://openalex.org/W2024295786","authors":[],"funders":[],"total_grants":0,"fwci":1.0351,"citation_percentile":0.75953605,"influential_citations":0,"citation_trend":[{"year":2014,"count":1},{"year":2015,"count":4},{"year":2016,"count":3},{"year":2017,"count":1},{"year":2018,"count":1},{"year":2019,"count":1},{"year":2021,"count":4},{"year":2022,"count":3},{"year":2024,"count":4},{"year":2026,"count":1}],"oa_status":"closed","license":"http://www.springer.com/tdm","oa_locations":[{"url":"http://link.springer.com/content/pdf/10.1007/s00192-012-1837-5.pdf","host_type":"publisher"},{"url":"http://link.springer.com/article/10.1007/s00192-012-1837-5/fulltext.html","host_type":"publisher"},{"url":"http://link.springer.com/content/pdf/10.1007/s00192-012-1837-5","host_type":"publisher"},{"url":"https://doi.org/10.1007/s00192-012-1837-5","host_type":"journal"},{"url":"https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/22707005","host_type":"repository"}],"fields_of_study":["Pelvic floor disorders treatments","Endometriosis Research and Treatment","Pregnancy-related medical research","Adolescent","Adult","Female","Humans","Observer Variation","Pain Measurement","Palpation","Parity","Pelvic Floor","Reproducibility of Results","Young Adult"],"mesh_terms":["Adolescent","Adult","Female","Humans","Pain Measurement","Palpation","Parity","Reproducibility of Results","Observer Variation","Pelvic Floor","Young Adult"],"keywords":["Medicine","Palpation","Asymptomatic","Pelvic floor","Visual analogue scale","Pelvic Floor Muscle","Pelvic pain","Physical therapy","Tenderness","Reliability (semiconductor)","Pelvic floor dysfunction","Surgery"],"sdg_mappings":[{"sdg_number":0,"sdg_label":"No poverty"}],"linked_datasets":[],"clinical_trials":[],"software_tools":[],"database_accessions":[],"source":"live","citation_network_status":"fetched"},"created_at":"2026-08-04T03:36:24.740776Z","pmid":null,"pmcid":null,"fwci":null,"citation_percentile":null,"influential_citations":0,"oa_status":null,"license":null,"views":0,"total_file_size_bytes":0,"version_count":0,"fair_f":null,"fair_a":null,"fair_i":null,"fair_r":null,"fair_zscore":null,"fair_rationale":null,"fair_model":null,"fair_agent_version":null,"fair_fulltext_source":null,"fair_has_llm":null,"fair_computed_at":null,"clinical_trials":[],"software_tools":[],"db_accessions":[],"linked_datasets":[],"topics":[]}
