All of the MAO-inhibiting antidepressants available in the USA as prescription drugs are non-selective, and retard the oxidative deamination of the entire list of substrates for the enzyme presented in table 1. These non-selective inhibitors include phenelzine, tranylcypromine and isocarboxazid, as well as such previously widely used drugs as nialamide and iproniazid.
