The chromosomal localization of the genes encoding these proteins provides important information that can link them to known genetic abnormalities. Here, we report the mapping of the mouse gene for transcription factor AP-2, a protein that has been implicated in human oncogenesis. Using FISH, we have mapped the gene encoding the transcription factor AP-2, Tcfap2, to mouse Chromosome 13A5-B1.
