{"doi":"10.1002/recl.19460650202","title":"Presence of nicotinic acid (free and combined) in blood","abstract":"<jats:title>Abstract</jats:title><jats:p>As the nicotinic acid level in urine seems to show no typical changes in the case of nicotinic acid deficiency, investigation of the amount of it in blood was attempted. The various methods give various results, and it is considered that a different technique is desirable, in which a distinction is made between the nicotinic acid which is free in the filtrate and that which is combined with the proteins when the blood is deproteinized. Nicotinic acid added to blood is found entirely as free nicotinic acid.
