The vapour phase catalytic dehydro‐genation of acenaphthene","abstract":"<jats:title>Abstract</jats:title><jats:p>High yields of 93‐93% acenaphthylene are obtained (by vapour phase catalytic dehydrogenation of acenaphthene. The use of steam as a diluent for the acenaphthene vapour is particularly beneficial. The effect of certain operation variables on the degree of conversion has been studied; under certain conditions, both) naphthalene and α‐methyl naphtalene are present as by‐products.
